Autogate Repair: OAE 333A Troubleshooting at Old Klang Road
We fixed an OAE 333A autogate for a customer on Old Klang Road today. They’re having some issues with it. The main problem is that the autogate cannot fully retract. Because the previous autogate installer didn’t adjust the arm brackets correctly. The second issue is that the OAE333A has been unexpectedly opening on its own a few times in the past few weeks, which has been a cause for concern. The third problem is that the hinges on the left side have become loose and misaligned. This is causing problems with the bearings that sit on these hinges.
3 Main Issues With Autogate Systems
Upon looking at all three problems the customer mentioned, we started fixing them one by one. Here’s how we fixed the first issue with the autogate arm not fully retracting. We simply adjusted the autogate arm brackets, both the front and back clevis brackets. Some autogate repair services might overlook this adjustment. I always tell my customers to consider the quality of the work, not just the price. They might find a lower price elsewhere, but the quality of work may not meet the standard.
After that we proceeded to inspect the OAE swing arm autogate, we found the problem. The customer is using cheap Green and Red push buttons, which are low-quality. These buttons caused a short circuit in the autogate system, making it open on its own. We replaced the cheap Green and Red push buttons with our high-quality KRON push button. It’s important to remember that everything has its fair price. While you might find “CHEAP” autogate systems in the market, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting a good deal. In reality, you could be paying for low-quality autogate systems that won’t last long.
Tackling the Toughest Problem: Securing Hinges on a Red Brick Pillar
The third issue was the trickiest to deal with because the gate is attached to a red brick pillar, making it challenging to work on the hinges. To avoid the risk of the hinges getting loose, we decided not to replace them. Instead, we added two square metal plates, one at the top and one at the bottom. We then drilled holes into the bricks and installed sleeve anchor wall plugs to secure the plates in place. Afterward, we welded the two metal plates to the hinges to ensure a secure hold.
Choosing the Right Material for Autogate Pillars: Why Concrete Matters
We highly recommend against using red bricks or sand bricks for your gate pillars. Concrete is the only suitable material to ensure the stability and durability of your autogate pillars. Many renovation contractors prefer to use red bricks for the outer layer of the pillars and fill the inside with concrete. This practice is not advisable, as it can lead to weaker pillars and various issues down the road.
