Headache With 4 Channel Autogate Remote Control
This customer is utilizing an S.A.G autogate arm, which is an OEM product from KRON autogate. According to his story the original installer advised them to use a control panel with a built-in receiver and four-channel remote controls.Channel 1 is used to open one side gate, channel 2 opens both side gates, channel 3 controls the pillar light, and the fourth channel activates the alarm siren.
In the beginning, everything was good, but after a while, things went wrong. When there’s a big lightning storm, the pillar light starts burning and making sparks. This led to the control panel also burning. After several requests and calls, the original installer came, removed the control panel, and sent it to the autogate supplier to claim the warranty. It took nearly a month to get the control panel replaced. Throughout this time, they couldn’t use the autogate system, which frustrated his wife. She was really made about it.
Autogate Installer Won’t Help, Neighbors Annoyed
After replacing the control panel, it worked well for a few months, but then it started having issues again. The alarm siren keeps triggering false alarms during the night, which has upset the neighbors, and their dogs keep barking as a result. But this time, the original installer refuses to come anymore. The autogate repairer has been giving a lot of excuses and avoids coming, even when the customer tries to call him every day. So he asked around and one of his colleagues shared our contact information with him.
Upon checking, we found that there was a problem with the wire connected to the pillar light, and that’s what was causing the spark. This is why we recommend not connecting the live wire of the pillar light to the control panel. It’s better to keep the autogate system completely separate without any additional connections. This way, it won’t experience any autogate issues and can last for many years.
